Bruce Quinlan was born in Oakes ND, on 21 November 1949, to Robert and Marilyn (Halder) Quinlan. Shortly after graduating from high school, Bruce enlisted in the US Navy. After performing honorably in the service, he moved to the Washington DC metropolitan area, where he became a civil servant with the US Department of Justice. He later joined CACI for a long and distinguished career where he rose to the level of Vice President.
Bruce and his wife, Mary, were active in the community and they both were involved in their children school activities. For year, he was a coach in the Pioneer Baseball Organization and the Lee District Basketball Organization. Bruce touched the lives of many young men and women during his long coaching career.
Bruce passed away surrounded by his family on October 23, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Virginia Quinlan.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Quinlan; his sons, Eric Kelly and Erin Patrick Quinlan; his grandchildren, Breanna, Mackenzie and Madison Quinlan; his mother-in-law, Nora Carter; his seven sisters, Marjorie Meidinger, Jennifer Exner, Paula Quinlan, Eileen Vculek, Bernadette Quinlan, Jill Mulder; his two brothers, Basil and Patrick Quinlan; nine brothers-in-law and seven sisters-in-law; 24 nieces and nephews; and 16 great nieces and nephews. He was loved and respected by many and will be greatly missed by all.
A Memorial Service, officiated by Rev David Rhodenhizer, was celebrated on 2 November 2012 at at the Calvary Road Baptist Church in Arlington VA. His cremains were later entombed on 4 March 2013, at the Columbarium at Arlington National Cemetery.
