Find a Grave ID

Bio

Hi,

You can expect the following from memorials I manage -

* I will use every last name of the individual, within the appropriate 'box', in the memorial name, ex. Jane | (nee) Doe (step) Ray | (married) Smith Jones Lee, so the memorial is found more easily. Hopefully this will decrease duplicate memorials. I endeavor to use chronological order.

*Inscriptions are for what is inscribed/etched on the tombstone only (preferably with an English translation where appropriate). I prefer the entire inscription be entered as some of us using FAG have difficulty reading ornate script and/or are developing visual difficulties. This is in response to a direct request that I received.

*Please submit edits (& messages) through the 'Suggest Edits' option in the memorial, so they can be processed accurately. Any other edits, questions specific to the memorial or transfer requests are made the same way, by clicking on the 'Other'/Contact Manager' button within the edit screen. If you send me a request without the memorial ID, the request will likely be ignored.

*I believe memorials should be managed by family and/or friends that care/cared about the individual. Most of the memorials which I manage are for people other than my relatives. If you would like to have a memorial transferred to you, please let me know how you are related. I reserve that right to decline your request; however, I will probably transfer the memorial to you. PLEASE use the 'edit' button on the memorial, then 'Suggest other suggestions' button.

*When I see "Dr." before a name, I want to know whether this individual was a DC, DO, DVM, DDS, PhD, DD ("Rev") etc., not everyone is a Doctor of Medicine. You may find initials after any name that starts with "Doctor".

Memorials of living spouses/relatives created from obituaries are NOT ALLOWED.

Per Sarah-Find A Grave Administrator:
"The site does not encourage adding memorials for individuals who are still living. If you think a spouse/partner or other name listed on the stone could reasonably be alive, it's best not to create a memorial from that name.

Now, if the living person has given permission to the manager to post a living memorial and there's a pre-need stone in a cemetery, then it is okay. Yet the manager should put "Still living" in the bio. That said, if you know the person is alive and don't have permission from them, you really shouldn't be creating a memorial for that individual.

Submitting a photo to Find A Grave grants Find A Grave a license to host the photo and facilitate the sharing of that photo across the Ancestry Community, so that Find A Grave users can post that photo to other Ancestry Community websites. However, submitting a photo to Find A Grave does not permit other Find A Grave users to post or republish the photo anywhere else (e.g., posting the photo on non-Ancestry sites or publishing it in a book, etc.).
