Bio

I'm researching the Rhodes, Ducker, Ashley, Lance, Holdridge, Jenkins, Brooks, Hendrix, Wells, Ballinger, Brown, Willis, Wolfe, Crook, Corn and Carter families of North and South Carolina, and beyond. The journey has been fascinating, suprising and lots of fun.

Find a Grave has been a priceless resource. I have found relatives that lived in my same neighborhood on the west coast, thousands of miles from where we came from back east. In addition, there have been several revelations of unions between members of my maternal grandmother's mom and dad's extended familes, and other cases of 2nd and 3rd cousins that lived right under our noses that we never realized. There is also a case of brothers who married 3rd cousins from our extended family. Lastly, I found where we are related to three rather notable and important people on my maternal grandfather's side of the family.

My current genealogical goal is creating a family history scrapbook that will include items other than just photos. Newspapers.com has been an amazing resource tool for learning historical family stories I otherwise would have never known, as well as providing funeral and burial information that no living relatives could provide. This is an enormous undertaking, and it's coming along quite well.

Please contact me if there are errors on a memorial I manage, and I will correct them right away. Enjoy and cherish your discoveries!
