Bio

I became interested in my family's genealogy when I saw the work that my mother's parents had done. My grandmother had hit a roadblock about 5 generations back in her home town of Cincinnati. I was at a meeting in Louisville in about 1990 and decided to rent a car and drive to the Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati. I made a discovery there that took me to the previous generation in New England and from there it wasn't hard to get back to Massachusetts in 1630. You might say that this event stimulated me to keep after it as I have on and off ever since. I have found that Find a Grave is one of the many excellent resources to keep finding your family and have been happy to take advantage and more recently contribute. I am amazed at how many memorials have already been created for my own family members' graves, usually with photos and often by people with no known connection to the family. I would be a bigger contributor if so many of them weren't already done! I have also done some work on my wife's family in Hawaii and that has also been very rewarding. I live in the far western suburbs of Chicago now and might be able to help out with grave photos, etc. if there are needs in my area.
