I was born and raised in Newburgh, NY. I served five years as a Gunnersmate in the US Navy from 1982 - 1987. I served on the USS Mississippi, CGN-40 from 1983 - 1985 and the USS Virginia, CGN-38, from 1985 - 1987. After my military service I became a police officer for the Town of Newburgh, NY in 1988. I was promoted to Sergeant in 1999 and continue to hold that rank. I was badly injured in the line of duty by a crash with a drunk driver and will soon be medically retired. I have two sons, William IV born in 1993 and Wade born in 1996.
