Bio

I am recently retired, with more time to research my family history, something I have always wanted to pursue.

I have found many interesting facts and stories about my extended family. On my father's side, the Shadic family (sometimes spelled Shadick, Shadric, Shadrick or Shadwick) has been in Columbia County, New York since the early 1700's. The family has primarily been involved in farming, trotting horse and livestock breeding in the towns of Taghkanic, Copake, Craryville, Hillsdale, and Claverack (Philmont, Hollowville and Mellenville).

I have begun the process of better documenting the family burial sites in the Columbia County area where I grew up, adding links to the known family members. The family names include Wildermuth, Cameron, Couse, Race and Darling. All have a long history in Columbia and Dutchess Counties.
