Beaver Creek Church is not far.
Thomas Carlton, Sr had a family cemetery on his land which was recorded by George McNeill in 2002.
The exact number of graves undetermined but 13 unmarked and 7 marked graves were found.
Other researchers suggest that this is the same cemetery that some Carltons called the "Old Dutch Burying Ground"
and the Isbells called "Old German Graveyard" (Notable Southern Families by Zella Armstrong).
Doug Land says: "What George Carlton called "Old Dutch Burying Ground" is located on property that first belonged to Thomas Carlton (1756-1845) who married first Mary Land (1759-1796), daughter of Thomas Land and Anna Sumter, and married in 1799 Catherine Livingston (d.1837). Some also call it the Thomas Carlton family cemetery.
Thomas Carlton Jr., Revolutionary War soldier, is buried here.
"There are two old Carlton Family Cemeteries. One is located along Beaver Creek Road, on a slight hill overlooking Beaver Creek that is in front of the old Livingston home and not far from Long Branch flows into Beaver Creek on what was once property that belonged to the old German (Jarman?) family. That is likely where Thomas Carlton Sr. is buried. Most graves are marked by a rough stone.
