Polo M. García, age 91, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away at home on July 22, 2009 with his loving family at his side.
Polo is survived by his daughters, Pauline Fritsch, Elisa Telles and her husband, Edwin and Becky Gauna and her husband, Phil, his sister, Josephine "Fina" Macias, his grandchildren, Dominic Fritsch and his wife, Samantha, Martin Fritsch, Andre Telles and his wife, Melanie, Vicente Telles, Antoinette Guliford and her husband, Maurice, Isaac Telles and Madeline Gauna, seven great-grandchildren, Simon Polo Fritsch, Benjamin, Aurora, A.J. and Abra Telles, Josiah and Jordan Guliford and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Polo was preceded in death by his loving wife, Vina García.
Polo was a member of the Catholic Church and a Veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II, Battery C, 108th Field Artillery Battalion. Visitation will be on Friday, July 24, 2009 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Gabaldón Mortuary in the Gabaldón Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Melanie Telles and Martin Fritsch. Final visitation will be on Saturday, July 25, 2009 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna NW, with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. by Father James Moore. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dominic Fritsch, Andre Telles, Martin Fritsch, Vicente Telles, Isaac Telles and Maurice Guliford. Honorary pallbearers will be Edwin Telles and Phil Gauna.
