Mrs. Lena Ballweg, 79, of 731 Teall Ave. died yesterday at Community-General Hospital after a brief illness. She was a life resident of Syracuse. Mrs. Ballweg was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She had retired as a telephone operator with New York Telephone and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Williams of Cicero and Mrs. Marion E. Vieu, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Carter Funeral Home, 1804 Grant Blvd. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home.
