On Friday, June 17th, Mrs. Frank Herr died at her home in the town of Meeme, Manitowoc County, at the age of forty-one years.
Katherine Seipel, daughter of Cornelius Seipel, was born in the town of Rantoul, Calumet County, Dec. 1, 1874. She remained on the home farm until February, 1897 when she was married to Frank Herr of Meeme and they began housekeeping on her husband's farm. She is spoken of by neighbors and friends as a dutiful daughter, a loving wife and mother. She was a member of the Catholic Church and strong in her faith, being a devout and regular attendant at services and taking an interest in the work of her parish church.
Her death was due to blood poisoning, to which she succumbed after an illness of ten days. The funeral was held on Monday from St. Fiedalius (sic) at Meeme and was largely attended by relatives and friends.
She is survived by her husband and six children, the oldest eighteen and the youngest two years. She is also survived by her father, Cornelius Seipel of New Holstein, three brothers, John Seipel of Charlestown, Henry and Nicholas Seipel of Riverside, California, and four sisters, Mrs. Andrew Pfister of Charlestown, Mrs. Fred G. Veit of Chilton, Mrs. Wm. Schneider of Rantoul and Mrs. Anton Mueller of New Holstein.
