Mrs. Mabel Frederichsen, 84, former Muscatine and Wilton Junction resident, died Wednesday at St. Joseph hospital, Phoenix, Ariz., following a lengthy illness.
The daughter of Henry and Fredericka Jorden Ficken, she was born Oct. 1, 1883 at Burlington. She came to Muscatine at the age of 16 and lived here until 1905 when she moved to Wilton Junction where she resided for 49 years. After the death of her husband in 1954 she moved to Arizona to be near her daughters.
May 1, 1905, Mabel Ficken married Leonard Frederichsen at Muscatine. She was a member of the Wilton Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star and N.N.C.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Gertrude) Nelson of Show Low, Ariz. and Mrs. William (Henrietta) Breese of Phoenix. Three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband and one son, Kenneth.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Monday at the Griffith funeral home with Rev. I. G. Wilkins in charge. Burial will be at the Oakdale cemetery at Wilton.
