Hadda's husband Lars was stepfather to my grandfather Einer Louis Tulberg (Memorial #66122775). I found the following information on Hadda through personal research.
Hadda was born at Hofmantorp in the parish of Sköldinge in Södermanland, Sweden, according to the parish records. Hofmanstorp was the cottage where she was born - a "torp" is a cottage, so Hofmans-torp would be the Hofman's cottage.
Hedda's parents were Jonas Pehrson and Anna Brita Nilsdotter. Hedda's birth record indicates that Jonas and Anna were living in the household of Anna's parents, as Jonas' relationship to the household is "mågen" (son-in-law). Anna was born March 21, 1808.
A variant spelling of Hedda in Sweden was Hädda, but as English does not have the same diacritical mark, in the US her named was spelled simply Hadda.
Hadda married Lars Olof Tullberg at Jakob Och Johannes, Stockholm, Sweden, on Sep 11, 1864 (source: Sweden Marriages 1630-1920, Indexing Project M41764-1, Sweden ODM, Source File 77761). Hadda and Lars had their first son, Gustave Augustus, in Sweden October 6, 1864.
On April 11, 1870, a "moving out" document completed in the parish of Jakob and Johannes in Stockholm, Sweden showed that Lars, Hadda and their son Gustave were moving from Sweden to Copenhagen, Denmark. In 1871 the first (Svend Harry) of their other three sons was born in Denmark, followed by their other two sons (Niels Henry and Olof Holger).
After living in Denmark for a few years, Hadda, Lars and their sons emigrated to the United States. Lars left first to establish a home, and Hedda followed with the four boys on the SS Geiser, leaving Copenhagen November 10, 1883 and arriving in New York November 19, 1883. They established a homestead in Morris, Shawano County, Wisconsin.
Hadda died September 2, 1887, four years after arriving in the United States. Her husband Lars' obituary read that her death "plunged the family into the deepest grief."
Three years after Hadda died, Lars married Oline Engebretsen (who had emigrated from Norway with her infant son Einer in 1887) on January 6, 1890 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Morris, Shawano County, Wisconsin. Lars and Oline named their daughter "Hadda" after Lars' first wife.
