She was born on March 16, 1924 in Goff, Ks, the daughter of Edward A. and Thresia F. (Sextro) Brucken.
She moved to Los Angeles, CA in 1948, to Holton, KS in 1970, to Topeka, KS in 1972, and then to Hoyt, KS in 1982.
Dorothy was a homemaker and a seamstress. Dorothy was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Meriden, KS, where she was a member of the Quilters Guild and the Altar Society. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening and canning.
Dorothy married Leon W. Benoit on June 23, 1948 at St. Dominic s Catholic Church in Holton, KS. He preceded her in death on October 23, 1990.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Yvonne Rose Benoit in infancy and six brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include her children, Terri Benoit, Parker, CO, Norman Benoit, Topeka, KS, Denise (Harold) Walsh, Allen, TX, Robert (Suzanne) Benoit, Hoyt, KS, Mary (Larry) Boos of Topeka, KS. Ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Meriden, KS. Interment will follow in St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery, Meriden, KS.
