He came to Kansas when he was 19 years old. He was married to Thresia Sextro in Kelly, Kansas, October 26, 1910. He was a farmer all his life.
He leaves to mourn his death a wife and eleven children, Henry Brucken of Mayetta, Kansas, Ed Brucken and Mary Alvina Wessel of Baileyville, Kansas, John Brucken, Albert Brucken, Josephine Roles, Rose Rogge, of Kansas City, Missouri, Dorothy Benoit of Los Angeles, California and Lawrence, Leo, and Elnora of the home. His two sisters Mary and Carrie and 4 brothers, Henry, Frank, Clem of Ohio and Herman of Delia, and 12 grandchildren.
Rosary was held at the McAsey Mortuary. Funeral service was held at St. Dominics Church Saturday morning February 19, by Rev. Frank Glowacki, pastor. Burial was in Mount Calvary cemetery at Holton, Ks.
Six nephews were pallbearers Gerald Sextro, Kenneth Sextro, Leander Sextro, Sylvester Bussing, Lawrence Boeckman, Raymond Boeckman.
