He was still there in 1917 when he signed his draft card. In 1920 he was married to Gladys, living in Los Angeles, California, and working as a railroad clerk. His father died in Alameda County in 1927. From 1925 through 1942, John and Gladys were living in Queens, New York City. He worked as an employee of The Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Co. at 420 Lexington Ave., New York City.
Gladys died in White Plains, New York in December 1978. And John died in White Plains in August 1986. They had no children.
