OBITUARY :
JULIA (PAULDING) TOWSON, widow of Arthur L. Towson, Smithsburg, died suddenly at Washington County Hospital Monday evening, aged 81.

Born in Huntington, Long Island, she was the daughter of Hiram and Virginia (Mulligan) Paulding, and had lived in Smithsburg for the past 60 years.

She was a devoted member of St. Ann's Episcopal Church, Smithsburg, and of St. Ann's Guild. She was a worker and leader of the community affairs and was a member of the Library Club of Smithsburg.

Surviving are sons, Arthur L. Towson, Jr., Lewiston, N.Y.; Paulding Towson, Baltimore; daughter, Mrs. James Murphy, Houston, Texas; sister, Mrs. W. C. Dripps, Huntington, L. I.; and ten grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Ann's Episcopal Church, Smithsburg, by the Rev. Bernard A. Jennings. Entombment will be in the Smithsburg Mausoleum.
