Frank Joe Cream immigrated to USA in 1912, coming over on same ship as Frank Smotek who he met on ship coming to America. His father was Vaclav Smetana and his mother was Katherine Tetcriv.

Frank Cream's last name in Czechoslovakia was Smetana, and when he arrived in America, he wanted an American name. Smetana in English means Cream, so he changed his last name to the Anerican name of Cream.
