---Dr. B. F. Hoffman, 80, professor Emeritus of Germanic languages at the University of Missouri died today of bronchitis.
A native of Bay, Mo., he became a member of the university staff in 1887 and was the oldest faculty member in point of service. He retired in 1930 under a Carnegie foundation pension.
Survivors include three children, Mrs. Malcom E. Perryman, Columbia, Mo.; Frank W. Hoffman, St. Louis, and Mrs. Louis Goodson, East Orange, N.J.
