Gallagher, Marleen J. (nee Kirchner) Age 75. Suddenly Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Northwestern Community Hospital in Arlington Heights following complications arising from pancreatitis. Born in Johnstown, PA and a Joliet and Shorewood resident for the past 53 years. Marleen started and loved her bunco club. She also was an avid Pinochle card player. She could also be seen at Town and Country Bowling Lanes with her 16-pound ball bowling league. She was a longtime volunteer at the Rialto Theater. Her greatest love was helping others and spending time with her family and friends. Preceded by her parents, Robert Kirchner and Mildred Fry and one brother, Robert Kirchner. Survived by her loving and devoted husband of 53 years, Dennis J. Gallagher of Shorewood; two daughters, Cindy Mahoney of Shorewood and Karen (Tim) Madsen of Joliet; two sons, Dennis (Michelle) Gallagher of Gurnee and John (Dawn) Gallagher of Joliet; five grandchildren, Jeremy, Samantha, Mathew, Shannon and Sydney Gallagher; four sisters, Beverly (Ronald) Miller of Johnstown, PA, Carol (Clifford) Miller of Havelock, NC, Mary Ann (Richard) Holtz of Johnstown, PA and Lori (Bob) Chapman of Macomb, IL; three brothers, Ronald of TN and David of CA Kirchner and John (Carol) Burkhart of FL; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral Services for Marleen J. Gallagher will be Monday, December 10, 2012 at 10:15 a.m. from the funeral home to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Entombment Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
