Mrs. Mai was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Great Bend. She enjoyed sewing, needlework and had an adoration for cats. She and her husband Walter also enjoyed crafts and attending craft shows.
Survivors include her husband Walter, of the home; two sons, Walter Allen Mai and his companion Julie Mitchell of Houston, Texas, and Daryl Lynn Mai and wife Libby of San Antonio, Texas; eight grandchildren, Darren Mai, Melissa Haire, Chad Mai, Curtis Mai, Jason Mai, Nathan Mai, Bradley Duryee and Dustin Duryee; and one sister-in-law, Lila Nuss of Russell. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathryn Duryee; brother, Wayne Nuss; and three sisters, Alvina Miller, Viola Podszus and Corine Dutschmann.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Great Bend, with the Rev. James A. Strassen officiating. Interment will be at Golden Belt Memorial Park, Great Bend. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Sunday at Bryant Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or American Cancer Society or Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of the funeral home.
