Ann Marie "Babe" Olson of Fargo joined Our Heavenly Father on December 24, 2004 at the age of 85.

She was born August 4, 1919 in York, North Dakota. Her older sister gave her her nickname almost immediately. As a girl, she moved with her family to Devils Lake, ND where she met her life-long love, Chester. On December 6, 1937, she married Chester Olson with whom she celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary this year. They have lived in Fargo for the last 50 years.

Babe was a kind and generous person who enjoyed family get-togethers and visiting friends.

She worked for Northern School Supply during the late 1950s and early 1960s, but was content most of her life as a homemaker, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, Chester; daughter, Sally Olson of Moorhead, MN; son, James (Jean) Olson of Fargo; brother, Leo Meier of Great Falls, MT; 7 grandchildren; 9great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.

Donations are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Because of her generous nature, she has donated her body to the UND School of Medicine. A memorial mass will be held at Church of the Nativity at 10:30 am Monday, December 27, 2004.
