Maria Sandner, 94, of 1026 Scenic Drive, Kunkletown, PA passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Getz Personal Care Home. She was born in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany, on Nov. 6, 1917 and grew up in Nuremberg. She was the daughter of Matthias and Anna Sandner. She was predeceased by sister Anna Sandner and brothers Matthias, Anton, Felix and Heinrich, all of Germany.

After graduating from Business School, Maria worked as a secretary and came to the U.S.A. in 1950. Her first employment was as domestic help in the N.Y. and N.J. areas and she later worked for Siemen's Corp. in N.J. until retiring in 1980. She then moved to the Jonas area and volunteered much time at the Getz Personal Care Home. Maria was a cherished friend of the Getz Family and later became a much loved resident of the Care Home. Her burial will be in the Gilbert Cemetery and a gathering to celebrate Maria's life will be held at the Getz Personal Care Home on Tues. March 20th at 7:00 PM for all friends and family.
