Services for George August Degner, 82, of Waldorf, who died Weddnesday, June 30, at the lake Shore Inn Nursing Home in Waseca, were 10 a.m., Saturday, July 3 at Xoar United Church of Christ in Waldorf, the Rev. Jack Perdue officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery in Vivian Township.
Visitation was held from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 2 at the Arnoldt Funeral Home in Janesville and one hour before services at the church.
Mr. Degner was born Aug. 29, 1899 to Paul and Mary (Wuest) Degner in New Richland. He was reared in the Waldorf area and later worked as a carpenter with a brother. He served in the U. S. Army Medical Corps in 1942 and 1943 and was discharged to work in essential industry. He was employed by the Rochester State Hospital until he retired. He then returned to Waldorf to make his home, joining the Waldorf American Legion.
Mr. Degner is survived by a sister, Mrs. Lillian Disch of Sioux City, Iowa. He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
