Frank Frederick, age 86, of Rolette, ND passed away on Friday, August 26, 2011 in the Quentin M. Burdick Memorial Hospital, Belcourt, ND.

Frank Frederick was born on April 23, 1925 in Belcourt, ND to Henry and Virginia (Belgarde) Frederick. He grew up in Belcourt and attended St. Ann's Catholic School when he was young. Frank was enlisted in the United State Navy on January 25, 1945, and received an honorable discharge on February 2, 1950. He was a boxer while enlisted in the military and was overseas during WWII, obtaining a WWII Victory Medal and an Asiatic Pacific Medal. Frank was also enlisted in the United State Army on July 27, 1951 and served during the Korean Era. He was honorably discharged from the Army on April 14, 1954, and had earned many awards and honors during that time, including a Purple Heart.

Frank was united in marriage to Evelyn (Wilkie) Marcotte on September 14, 1976 in Rolla, ND. Frank was a life member of the VFW Post # 4526 in Belcourt and also a member of the Lilley-Dionne American Legion Post # 262 in Belcourt. Frank enjoyed traveling to different places, especially by train. He took many trips by train and later by car throughtout his life. He also liked to go to the casino.

Frank had resided at the Rolette Community Care Center for the past 16 years.

Frank will be greatly missed by his family members and many friends.

Frank is survived by nephews, Jerry (Marie) Gese of Browley, Louisiana, Don (Inez) DeCoteau of Belcourt, and Henry (Mary) DeCoteau of Cypress, CA; nieces, Audrey Morin of Belcourt, Ann (Don) Kirkus of Seattle, WA, Susan Delorme of Belcourt, and Lillian (Robert) Palmatier of Spring Lake, NC; 18 great-nieces and nephews; 25 great-great-nieces and nephews; and two great-great-great-nephews.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Evelyn in 1982; sister, Rose Spaeth; brother, George William Frederick; and nephews, Gregary Gese and Harold DeCoteau.

Honorary bearers were all family, friends, and Rolette Community Care Center Staff.

Music was provided by the DeCoteau Family.

Casket bearers were Joseph Frederick, Donald DeCoteau, Dillian Gourneau, James Morin, Allan Morin Jr., and Justin Lee Morin.

Eucharistic Gifts were brought up by Kristie DeCoteau, Inez DeCoteau, and Michelle Morin.

Readers were Donald DeCoteau and Hailey DeCoteau.

Pall was placed by Susan Delorme, Audrey Morin, Donald DeCoteau and Inez DeCoteau.

Rosary was led by Carol Rose Grant, Roberta DeCoteau, and Gladys Poitra.

Military Honors were presented by the Lilley-Dionne American Legion Post # 262 of Belcourt, and the Devils Lake Military Funeral Honors Team of Devils Lake.

Funeral Mass was held on Friday, September 2, 2011 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt. Burial followed in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
