Elizabeth Shurson, 55, of 127 Grandview Court, University Heights, died Tuesday morning at the Parkview Manor in Wellman after a short illness. Services will be Thursday at the Beckman-Callahan Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. VFW Auxiliary memorial services will be at 7:30 today.

Mrs. Shurson was born Nov. 16, 1925, in LeMars, a daughter of Fred and Edna Oetken. She attended grade school and was graduated from high school in Greenfield. She was graduated from the Des Moines College of Cosmetology in 1943.

She married Joseph D Shurson on May 21, 1950, in Eagle Grove. She moved to Iowa City and had been employed by Blackstone's Beauty Salon since 1961.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post No. 2581.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Joan Sharon, at home, and Mrs. Diane (Paul) Kaefring Jr, of West Liberty; three grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Nellie Miller of Greenfield; Mrs. Gussie Packard and Mrs. Erna Richards both of Albany, Ore.
