David Edward Brunner Sr., 82, of Monrovia, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008, at his home. Born Aug. 15, 1925, in New Market, Md., he was the son of the late David Christian and Susie Mealey Brunner. His wife of 54 years, Barbara Rebecca Brunner, died in 2003.
He retired from Maryland State Highway Administration in Frederick, Md., after 21 years.
He was a member of Bush Creek Church of the Brethren in Monrovia.
He is survived by six children, Lorene R. Burke and David E. Brunner Jr., both of Walkersville, Md., Charles R. Brunner of Ijamsville, Md., Nancy M. Ernest of Thurmont, Md., and Judy I. Regnier and Warren A. Brunner, both of Frederick; six grandchildren; one stepgranddaughter; one great-granddaughter; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Bush Creek Church of the Brethren. Pastors Charles G. Beekley and Wilkie Nunn will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home in Damascus, Md., Tuesday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
