She was the wife of David E. Brunner Sr., her husband of 54 years.
Born June 16, 1931, in Mount Airy, she was the daughter of the late Gurney and Ada Main Brashear.
She was a housewife all her life. She was a member of Bush Creek Church of the Brethren, Monrovia, where she served as president and vice president of the ladies auxiliary for several years.
She enjoyed quilting, sewing, bowling, playing softball with her grandchildren, gardening, flowers, cooking and canning her vegetables. She was an avid Orioles fan and enjoyed keeping up on the team.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three daughters, Lorene Burke and husband Dave of Walkersville, Nancy Ernest of Thurmont, and Judy Reginer and husband Rick of Frederick; three sons, David E. Brunner Jr. and wife Dixie of Walkersville, Charles R. Brunner and wife Diana of Ijamsville, and Warren Brunner and wife Darlene of Frederick; six grandchildren, G. David Burke and wife Shannon, Jonathan Burke, Arthur Burke, Kim Fister, and Kevin and Robbie Brunner; two brothers, Ralph Brashear of Florida, and Paul Brashear of Monrovia; one sister, Edna King of Clarksburg; two sisters-in-law, Liz Brashear of Monrovia, and Mary Brashear of Inwood, W.Va.; one brother-in-law, John Ganey of Frederick; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Cornelius, John and George Brashear; one sister, Ruth Ganey; one son-in-law, Bill Ernest; one grandson-in-law, Mike Fister; and two sisters-in- law, Evelyn and Marion Brashear.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, at Olin L. Molesworth Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3, at Bush Creek Church of the Brethren, 4821 Green Valley Road, Monrovia. The Rev. John Green will officiate.
Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, next to the
church.
Bearers will be Sam Main, Bob Main, Clyde Main, John Thompson, Elwood Hipkins and Sam Weinburg. Honorary bearers will be Wayne Fisher and Ronnie Harshman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Frederick County, 516 Trail Ave., P. O. Box 1799 Frederick, Md. 21702; or to the charity of one's choice.
