Faust Funeral Rites Held At St. Liborius Church August 4

Funeral services for John Faust, 84 were held Friday morning, August 4 at St. Liborius Church at Polo. The Rev. Fr. Charles Zeller was in charge of the services. Burial was in the Polo Cemetery. Faust died August 1 in the De Smet Hospital where he had been a patient for about two months following a stroke.

John Michael Faust was born in Sandusky, Ohio on April 23, 1877. As a small child he went with his family to St. Bernard, Nebr. He married Rose Bode in April of 1924 and they were the parents of one daughter.

They lived on a farm near Orient in the early thirties moving there from near Faulkton where they had lived for a number of years. In 1936 they moved to a farm in the Polo area where they lived until his retirement in 1950 when he came to Miller. Mrs. Faust died in about 1949. He made his home for a number of years at the home of Mrs. Roy McCarl who cared for him in his older age. Last year he went to the Falkner Rest Home at DeSmet.

Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Clarence Cutson, Germaine, Lewellen, Nebra., five stepchildren, Fred Bode, Faulkton, Ben Bode, Selby, Ralph Bode, Lake Preston, Mrs. Elmer Durkin, Ft. Pierre and Mrs. Harold Witte, Orient.
