Florian was born September 19, 1913 on the family farm southwest of Manning, ND to Anton and Veronica (Mischel) Armbrust. On June 17, 1941, he married Theresa Amelia Reiter at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Dickingon, ND. After the start of WWII, he and Teresa moved to Blissfield, MI so that he could find work in the factories. Their daughter, Judith Ann, was born in Michigan in 1943. After the end of the war, they moved back to Dickinson where he eventually started his own mechanics garage. They had another son, Donald, and a daughter, Marie while living in Dickinson. In 1964, Florian moved to Grand Forks so that Marie could attend the North Dakota School for the Blind. While living in Grand Forks, Florian worked for a farm implement dealer as a parts manager. In 1973, he moved back to Dickinson after retiring. Theresa joined him there in March of 1974. During the early years of his retirement, Florian enjoyed traveling to visit family. He suffered a stroke in the early 1980s and another one during the end of the 1980s. Florian died peacesully at his residence on August 16, 1995.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa, his daughter Judy (August) Hondl of Rapid City and their 2 sons Kevin (Kris) Hondl and Kurt Hondl; his son Donals (Hoanne) Armbrust of Minnesota, and his daughter Marie of Beulah, ND. He is also survived by his sisters Veronica Morgan, Rose LaSota, Margaret Berger, Anna Nicholas, and Half sister Laverne Barnes. He was preceeded in death by his parents, brothers George and Anton, and sisters Mary and Eva, and 1 infant grandson.
