Melanie Kiefer, 61, of Clermont, Fla., passed away at the Mike Conley Hospice House in Clermont. A funeral service will take place Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Ave. (Route 27), Metuchen. Interment is at Hazelwood Cemetery, Rahway. Born in Elizabeth, Melanie resided in Howell before moving to Clermont 14 years ago. She was a parishioner of the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Clermont, where she was a member of their prayer group. Surviving are her husband of 42 years, Edward Kiefer; her children, Rebecca Montesano and her husband, Anthony, of Edison, and Wayne Kiefer and his wife, Brenda, of Tinton Falls; her parents, Peter and Mildred Charko of Menlo Park Terrace; her brother, Gregory Charko and his wife, Kathleen, of Warren; seven grandchildren, Vincent, Alexander, Nicholas, Monika, Joseph, Wayne II, and Dana, and one nephew and niece, Ryan and Jenna.
