The Story City Herald - Thursday January 30, 1919
Mr. Daniel Ose, whose death was recorded in the Herald recently, was a son of Mr. Osmund Ose, living near McCallsburg, where Daniel was born Sept. 16 1888.
In May, 1913, he was married to Miss Johanna Male, of McCallsburg, and after a trip to Norway that lasted about a year, they settled down in Story City and made this their home ever since. Here he died January 7, 1919.
Three children were born to Mr. And Mrs. Ose. One, Arline Ozelle, died two years ago, and the other two - Lester and June - are yet too young to realize the great loss they have suffered in the death of their dear father.
Besides these two children and his beloved wife, who deeply feels the loss of a kind husband, he leaves to mourn his early departure, his father, two sisters - Mrs. Selma Johnson and Mrs. Seline Henderson - and three brothers - Osmund, Oscar, and Elwood - besides a host of friends and relatives, who all feel very keenly his departure from this life.
On account of the character of the sickness, influenza with pneumonia, the funeral took place from their home in the west part of town, Jan. 10. Rev. G. Smedal of Roland and Rev. Heimarek spoke words of sympathy and comfort to the relatives and friends that had met up to pay the last respect to a dear kin, a splendid citizen and a good and cheerful fellowman.
