In 1868, Karl Heinrich (aka "Charles") married Maria Bernadina Honkomp in Covington, KY; she was age 26, he was 29. Maria was also born in Steinfeld; immigrating to America with her parents (Clemens & Anna Maria [Bockhorst] Honkomp) -- landing in Baltimore, MD on 23 September 1866. From there, the Honkomp family moved directly to Kentucky.
The family lived in Covington for just over ten years, before moving on to Doyle, KS... ultimately settling in Stearns, County, MN around the village of Freeport.
