He married Dolly Dora Compton on April 5, 1917 in Denver, Colorado. Survivors include his wife and children, Dr. Walter Amerman of Murphysboro, Arnold Amerman of Washington, D.C. and Betty Jennings of South Holland.
Mr. Amerman was a retired engineer for the Borg-Warner Co. of Chicago. He died at the age of 92 at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro. His death was attributed to natural causes.
