LEROY A. WOELFEL
(1934 - 2005)

Leroy A. Woelfel, 70, of 320 W. Park Ave., Kiel, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Wednesday morning, Feb. 23, 2005.

He was born Nov. 25, 1934 in rural New Holstein, son of the late Arnold & Verena Hoffman Woelfel. He attended New Holstein schools. Leroy married Janice Mayer on June 30, 1956 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel. He was employed at Kohler Co. for 42 1/2 years retiring in 1996. Leroy was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Kohler Quarter Century Club, a charter member of Sleik Riders Snowmobile Club and a former member of the Kiel Lions Club. He enjoyed woodworking, snowmobiling, gardening, hunting, boating, fishing, camping and going on casino excursions. Leroy was an avid Green Bay Packer and Nascar fan.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Janice; six children, Michael (Cindy) Woelfel of Sheboygan, Jody (Dennis) Koenig of Kiel, Jeffry (Lori) Woelfel of Newton, Lois Woelfel of Kiel, Sue Bonnett and special friend, Bill Schmitz of Kiel and Brian (Kris) Woelfel of Kiel. He is further survived by 14 grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Michael and Christina Woelfel, Jeremiah and Zachary Koenig, Jill (Jeff) Zimmermann, Josh Woelfel, Crystal, Billy and Andy Bonnett and Sara, Alex and Jessica Woelfel; one sister, Delores Schad of Chilton; six sister-in-laws, Pearl Woelfel of New Holstein, Marie Woelfel of Kiel, Sally Klemme of Kiel, Virginia Klemme of Rockville, Irene Lindemann of Kiel and Selma Mayer of Kiel; one half sister, Shirley (Bob) Ficks of Texas; nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin ?Louie? Woelfel and Roland Woelfel and five brothers-in-law, Norman Schad, Ralph Klemme, Donald Klemme, Bob Lindemann and Carl Mayer.

The funeral Mass will be at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel with the Rev. Loren Nys, SDS officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
