------------------
HEREFORD, Kathrin Dalinger, born February 8, 1933 in Alexsader Koloni, Russia to Jakob and Emilie Dalinger. She passed away on February 26, 2013 due to advanced auto-immune diseases. Kathrin and her family survived World War II as German refugees, evading capture for a time by living in forests and caves. They were eventually forced into a German concentration camp and forcefully transported to various locations in Latvia, Poland, and Germany. The family immigrated to the U.S., arriving at Ellis Island in December, 1951. Immigration Services placed them on a dairy farm in Wellston, OK. Kathrin graduated from Chandler High School in 1953, where she met the love of her life, James. They married on June 28, 1953 and eventually settled in Tulsa and started a family. Mom loved being a mother, raising three children. She graduated from nursing school in 1969 and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years. Most of her career was spent working at St. Francis, where she retired in 1994 after 29 years of dedicated service. Mom was a passionate gardener, lovingly filling her yard with beautiful flowers, roses, plants, and vegetables. She loved to cook and bake, being outdoors, camping, and boating. She was a talented seamstress. She was always active in her church and volunteered at numerous organizations emphasizing help for the needy, hungry, or sick. She was also a very proud and active member of the Democratic Party.
