HEREFORD - James Emmitt, Jr., born March 9, 1932, in Chandler, OK to James Sr. and Bertha Hereford. He passed away July 10, 2008, after a long battle with cancer at his home with his beloved family by his side. He joined the National Guard in 1945, served with the 45th Infantry Division from 1949 to 1952 with active duty in Korea. He attended Oklahoma A&M receiving a degree in Accounting in 1956. He married the love of his life, Kathrin in 1953, and they celebrated 55 years of marriage in June. He worked at Zebco Brunswick for most of his career. Dad enjoyed photography, carpentry, music, camping, fishing, and travel. He was a true animal lover, had a wonderful sense of humor, and a positive attitude on life. Dad loved God, his family, and his country.

In addition to his loving wife, he leaves behind his children, Jim and wife Chera, Karen and husband John, and Heidi and husband Jay. Grandchildren, Lauren, Ashley, Michael, Kira, and Kelsey; and Ronnie Thomas; sister, Peggy Cameron.

Service will be held at 11 am, on Monday, July 14, 2008, at Bethany Lutheran Church. Visitation is 9-9 Saturday and Sunday, July 12 and July 13 at Floral Haven Funeral Home, 6500 S. 129th E. Ave, Broken Arrow, OK 918-252-2518. Contributions may be made to the Democratic Party.
