Erna was born and raised in the German immigrant farming community of Giddings, Texas. Her early life was spent on the family farm. During World War II she worked in Los Angeles, California, for Lockheed Corporation as one of the women workers famous for their contribution to the war effort in the manufacturing of fighters and bombers for the armed services. After World War II she worked for a number of years at Foley's Department Store in Houston, Texas.
She married George E. Little in 1959. In 1964 she began working for a number of years supporting the business Mr. Little formed in 1964, Aide, Inc. She was instrumental in the survival of the company in its early years. Today, Aide Inc. is one of the Upstate's major suppliers of technical staffing services.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Edward Little, in 1993.
She is survived by a stepson and his wife, Mark and Panetta Little, of Greenville; and a granddaughter, Melida Ehlen, of New Orleans, La.
Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at The Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Red Cross, P.O. Box 9035, Greenville, SC 29604.
