Esther was the daughter of Carl and Agnes Niehoff. She married Frank Winkler. Children: Lorene, Marjorie, Francis and Duane.The first years of their marriage were spent in Philip, SD. Then later on a farm in Sully county. After they divorced Esther raised the children on her own. She made the best cinnamon rolls and cookies, and was a wonderful cook. Sundays were a family time at her house.
