Paul Dean Grote, 45, of Sabetha died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Sabetha on November 26, 1963 the son of Harold and Lois Kreitzer Grote. He attended Sabetha schools and graduated from Sabetha High School in 1982. He attended Highland Community College.
Paul worked at Mid-America Dairymen Inc. and Koch Truckline. The past 10 years he has been employed by Keim TS, working in dispatch, load coordinator and safety and recruiting. He was united in marriage to Christine Hartter on August 20, 1963. She survives of the home.
Paul was a member of North Ridge Church in Sabetha. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, golfing and traveling. He loved spending time with family and friends, especially enjoying athletic events. He enjoyed coaching and watching the kids participate in a variety of sports, he was proud of their accomplishments.
Other survivors include his daughter, Briana Hall and son-in-law, Logan Hall, a son, Dylan Grote, of Sabetha, his mother, Lois Grote of Sabetha, a sister, Nancy Cox and husband Jerry of rural Sabetha, a brother, Stan Grote and wife Rose of Bayard, Iowa, and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Harold Grote, and two brothers, Larry and Roger Grote.
A celebration of life service was Saturday at the North Ridge Church in Sabetha.
