Lena Murawski, of 17 Cornell Road, Cooper Farms, died May 13, 1973, at General Division after a long illness. Lena was born in Poland and came to the Wilmington area 60 years ago.
She and her husband, Ben, had operated Ben's Tavern at Chestnut and South Harrison Streets, for 39 years. She was a member of Saint Hedwig's Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Bronislaw "Ben" Murawski; a son, William J of Elizabethtown NY; two daughters, Mrs Helen Duffy of Green Acres and Mrs Florence Carr of Wilmington; a sister, Mrs Amelia Piechowski of Poland; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A Mass of the Resurrection was offered Wednesday, May 16, 1973, at Saint Hedwig's Catholic Church, Linden and South Harrison Streets. Interment followed at All Saints Cemetery.
