Obituary for Ethel (Waseca County News, Tues 05 Sep 2000): "ETHEL M. STIERNAGLE, 87. Ethel M Stiernagle, age 87, of Waseca died Thursday Aug 31, 2000 at the Lake Shore Inn Nursing Home in Waseca. Funeral services were held on Sunday, Sept 2, 2000 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wilton. The Rev Glenn L Korb officated. Interment was at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca. Visitation was held on Friday, Sept 1, 2000 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Kinder Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca and continued on Saturday for one hour prior to services at the church. Casket bearers were Robert Stiernagle, Bryan Stiernagle, Scott Stiernagle, Jonathan Stiernagle, Jeffery Stiernagle, Dean Stiernagle, and Daniel Stiernagle. Ethel M Stiernagle, the daughter of Edward and Bertha (Foels) Gehring, was born on Sept 4, 1912 in Waseca County. She attended school in Wilton Township, Waseca County. She married Ervin A Stiernagle on July 12, 1933 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wilton. After getting married, they lived and farmed in Wilton and St Mary's Townships for about 35 years. They moved into Waseca to make their home in 1967. She then worked at Birdseye Division of General Foods in Waseca for about 8 years. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, reading and making blankets. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Wilton and the Ladies Aid. She is survived by one daughter, Jeanette Stiernagle of Waseca; by fours sons, Donald Stiernagle of Waseca; Richard Stiernagle an dhis wife Norma of Owatonna; LeRoy Stiernagle of Waseca; Stanley Stiernagle of Waseca; by one daughter in law, Marlene Stiernagle; by 16 grandchildren; by 23 great grandchildren; and by one sister, Mabel Cromer of Waseca. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Phyliss; one son, Harlen; one grandson Roger; two brothers, Lloyd and Leo Gehring; and four sisters, Hazel Gehring, Violet McCall and two sisters in infancy."
