Funeral services for Ervin Stiernagle, 78, were 11 a.m. Monday, Dec 26 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wilton Township, the Rev Richard E Langhorst officiating. The funeral was postponed from 11 a.m. Dec 24 because of inclement weather. Mr Stiernagle, of 406 5th Ave SE, died Thursday, Dec 22 at Waseca Area Memorial Hospital. Spring burial will be in Woodville Cemetery. Visitation was held Friday, Dec 23 at the Kinder Home for Funerals in Waseca and one hour before services at the church. Mr Stiernagle was born Aug 29, 1905 in Waseca County to Fred and Anna (Jeddloh) Stiernagle. He attended rural Waseca County school near Waldorf. He married Ethel Gehring at Trinity Lutheran Church July 12, 1933. The couple farmed in Wilton and St Mary's townships for 35 years, retiring to Waseca in 1967. Mr Stiernagle served on the rural school board of District 65 and on the Trinity Lutheran Church council. Mr Stiernagle is survived by his wife, Ethel; five sons, Donald of Waseca; Harlan of Claremont; Richard of Owatonna; and Stanley and LeRoy of Waseca; a daughter, Jeanette Stiernagle of Waseca; a brother, Walter of New Richland; two sisters, Carrie Radke of New Richland and Esther Flemming of Janesville; 18 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Pallbearers were nephews Lyle Cromer, Alvin Flemming, James Stiernagle, Harold Radke, Willard Voightlander and Gerald Gehring."
