The 1921 Joliet City Directory shows Oscar boarding with brother Joseph in Joliet.
On 21 September 1928, the Chicago Heights Star reported that "Oscar Darin Parette" would go before the court in Chicago Heights next Thursday for examination and naturalization. "Oscar De Rin Perette", b. 6 September 1881, of 58 E. 23rd Street, Chicago Heights, was naturalized 27 September 1928 in Chicago Heights, Cook Co., IL. He self reported this birth date, which matches the one on his birth cert. (The date on the death record is incorrect).
* Oscar Darin was also known as Oswaldo Darin, or Osvaldo Da Rin Perette. Family recalls him as the brother of Guiseppe Darin Perette of Joliet, IL. Brother Joseph seemed to report different parent names, but actually they each used different shortened names. The brothers were born in Laggio to parents living at the same address. Oscar was said to have sent his wife and daughters back to Italy.
