Funeral for Former Rock County Resident Held at East Moline Feb. 10

Funeral services for a former Rock county resident, Clarence Untiedt, 49, of East Moline, Ill. were held Saturday in that city.

Mr. Untiedt died there last Wednesday in the Lutheran hospital where he had been confined since the previous Saturday.

Officiating at the rites, held at the First Methodist church in East Moline was the Rev. Joseph Partridge. Active pallbearers were Ray Valentine, Melville Smith, Elmer Valentine, Ray Shrader, Everett Joners and Eber Thomas, all of East Moline. Honorary pallbearers were Gertrude Wilde, Gladys Noah, Harriet Smith, Margaret Valentine, Lecie Bradberry and Ferrie Stueland, also of East Moline. Interment was in Greenview Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Untiedt was employed as an inspector of East Moline works, International Harvester Company. He was a member of Masonic Lodge A.F. and A.M. No. 969, and the East Moline chapter of the Eastern Star where he served as an officer. He was also affiliated with the Royal Arch Masons and Zale Grotto in Moline.

He was born at Maharani, Minn., October 18, 1901. He married Beatrice Tunnel, of Laverne, on June 14, 1928 at Sioux Falls. He had lived at East Moline for the past nine years.

Survivors besides his widow are his two sons, Lawrence, of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.; and Keith, at home; his mother, Mrs. Emma Untiedt, Luverne; five brothers, Henry and Paul, Kanaranzi; Harry and Lloyd, Luverne; and Elmer, of Colorado Springs, and two sisters, Marcella Untiedt, Luverne, and Mrs. John Boelman, Luverne.

He was preceded in death by his father, the late Paul Untiedt, a daughter, one brother and three sisters.

Attending the funeral from here were Mrs. Emma Untiedt and Marcella, Mr. and Mrs. John Boelman, Mrs. and Mrs. Glen Trunnell, and Mrs. R.B. Scott, Luverne, and Mrs. Ione McDowell, Beaver Creek. Other relatives at the funeral from a distance included Elmer Untiedt, Colorado Springs, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Ruggiero, Hastings, Nebr. (Rock County Star Herald, Luverne, MN).
