Genevieve "Gen" Anderson (nee Sonnentag), age 91, of West Bend, passed away peacefully in the arms of family on Saturday, March 23, 2013.

She was born on May 20, 1921 in Ashippun to the late Oscar and Genevieve (nee Litscher) Sonnentag.

Genevieve was united in marriage to the late Arnold "Arnie" Anderson on June 22, 1940 at Gesu Catholic Church in Milwaukee. She was employed by Light Unlimited on Capital Dr. in Milwaukee for many years. In 1961 she moved with her husband to Germantown and in 1984 they retired to Enterprise Lake in Elcho, WI. She moved to Hartford in 2004.

Gen lived to be with her family. She enjoyed music, gambling at the casino, dancing, and painting. Gen was a great cook and loved to bake. She had a great heart and will be remembered for her amazing ability to make everyone feel as if they were her own.

Gen is survived by her two daughters, Diane (Mark) Heimsch of Crandon and Darlene (Bob) Ament of Hartford; three grandchildren, Kelly (Erik) Olson, Kristin Heimsch, and Tiffany (Jesse) Ament-Mack; two great-grandchildren, Camaron and Meghan; ten "adopted" children; a brother, Edward (Lucille) Erner of Waukesha; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Delores Beckwith; and a brother, Robert Sonnentag.

A funeral service in honor of Gen will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 5:30 pm at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home in West Bend with Rev. Francis Baiocchi officiating.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00 pm until the time of service.

Entombment will be on Friday, March 29, 2013 at 10:30 am in Washington County Memorial Park in West Bend.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Riverway Place for the exceptional love and care they extended to Gen over the past year.

The family would also like to thank Dr. Karen Hegmann, Dr. Brian Wolter, and the staff of Season's Hospice for the care they provided Gen.
