John Henry "Jack" Nierhoff Jr., 68, Bloomington, died at 4:55 p.m. Saturday (April 6, 2013) at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born Dec. 31, 1944 in Springfield, the son of John Henry and Vivian Viele Nierhoff. He was preceded in death by his parents. He married Mary Lou Ebel on Oct. 3, 1964 in Springfield. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Debbie (Kevin) Convey and Tina (Tony) Durnil; six grandchildren, Courtney, Micaela and Addison Convey and Jackie, Antonia and Mario Durnil; a brother, Ronald Jay Nierhoff; a sister, JoLynn (Gene) Adams and several nieces and nephews.
