MRS. ELIZA REED
Mrs. Eliza Reed of Republic succumbed to quick consumption on Thursday the 18th of June after an illness of only six weeks. The deceased whose maiden name was Eliza Kirby, was born in Illinois, on November 19th, 1857. The early part of her life was spent in that state but after her marriage to R. A. Reed [*Note: this is wrong as it was to Joseph J Reed. R. A.Reed was her son, Rasa.] They moved to Kansas, locating in Republic Co. Mrs. Reed was a member of the Protestant church and took an active part in all church work. As a devoted wife and mother and a loving friend, her death will be greatly mourned by all who knew her.
