Laverne Hancock...Mrs. Dyches, widow of James C. Dyches, died Sunday, June 4, 2000. Born in Barnwell Co., she was a daughter of the late James L. and Bertha Grubbs Redmond. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Franklin and Mildred Dyches of Conway; sister, Martha Black of Columbia; brother, Omele Redmond of Barnwell; granddaughters, Cynthia McCormick, Barbara Numberger, Kathy Wheeler, Lisa Benton, Stephanie Mitchell, Ann Lee and Brenda Norris; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild.
