Born in Jewett City, CT, she attended St Mary's Grammar School and Griswold High School, where she was valedictorian of her class at the age of 16. On October 5, 1941, she married Stanley Kilbosa, her loving husband for 50 years; he predeceased her on December 26, 1991.
A lifelong resident of Jewett City/Lisbon, Helen and her husband ran a small restaurant in Jewett City called the Polka Inn until 1956. Additionally, she was employed as a secretary at Plastic Wire and Cable, a receptionist for Dr. James Valace, and a transcriptionist for Dr. Bernard Podurgiel.
Helen was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Alexander Luty, of Jewett City and her husband, Stanley Kilbosa. She leaves her daughter, Dr. Madelaine Lawrence (Fred) of South Carolina; her four grandchildren, Dr. Rebecca Ramirez (Benjamin) of Columbus, Ohio, Bernard Podurgiel (Jane) of London, England, Debra Wilson (James) of South Carolina, and Jennifer Rosenberg (Ari) of Manhattan; six great-grandchildren, Anna Podurgiel, Timothy Wilson, Ella Podurgiel, Beatrice Wilson, Johanna Wilson, and Benjamin Podurgiel; and numerous friends and relatives.
She will be missed by all.
