Susanne V. Wood, beloved wife of the late Stacy B. C. Wood Jr., died Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Rydal Park Health Center. She was born in Germantown, PA, the daughter of Emil and Susan (Stauffer) Vollmar. A dance historian, she graduated from Holy Family High School in Auburn, NY, and attended St. Mary's College in Notre Dame, IN, and Katherine Gibbs School in NYC. She studied and performed with the Washington Ballet, Ballet Russe School in NYC and the Tanzgruppe, Stadttheater, in Bremerhaven, Germany. She was an arts administrator at the Fulton Opera House in Lancaster and the Dance Program Director for PA Council on the Arts in Harrisburg. She consulted for the National Endowment for the Arts and taught dance history for the Carlisle Project, a school for choreographers. She loved traveling to the British Isles, Irish folklore, watching The Colbert Report, and her 8 grandchildren for whom she shared her laughter, wisdom and warm sense of humor.

She is survived by 3 children, Sam (Lisa), Joe and Pippa Siguenza (Enrique) and her sister Jane V. Wheat. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. Mon., Apr 15, 2013 with a Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. at Immaculate Conception BVM, 602 West Ave., Jenkintown, PA. Arr. by Bringhurst Funeral Home at West Laurel Hill Cemetery.
